Wrocław – the meeting place

Wrocław, located in the southwest part of Poland, is a historic city on the forefront of change in the New Europe. The city's history is a mishmash of varied cultural influences on a place that was at different times claimed by Austria, Prussia, Germany and, of course, Poland. Due to its history, the city has become an open-minded, creative centre for international business and culture. It is also an academic centre with over 20 institutions of higher learning and over 120,000 students.



Wrocław is one of the most rapidly developing centres of culture on the cultural map of Poland and Europe. It was the host of the European Capital of Culture in 2016, which brought numerous cultural events to the city, and the World Games 2017, the biggest sports event in Europe in 2017.

The capital of Lower Silesia region, thanks to its highly-recognized location, is a perfect destination to host conferences, congresses or other meetings. Wrocław is prepared for next spectacular and international events, and for sure will meet the expectations of the participants!

How to get to Wrocław?

The number of tourists and businessmen who come to Wrocław keeps growing every year. They get to Wrocław by various means of transport. The city is surrounded by an extensive network of roads and motorways, hence it’s easily accessible for those travelling by car from all directions. The Wrocław Motorway Bypass (A8 motorway), and a brand new S5 do their job perfectly, diverting transit traffic from the city, thus facilitating the movement of passenger cars in the city centre. The Wrocław Eastern Bypass, currently under construction, will soon take over another significant part of the traffic. Wrocław can also be reached by air and it is a great alternative route for tourists who prefer this means of transport. The Wrocław Nicolaus Copernicus Airport is located in the south-west part of Wrocław, about 10 km away from the city centre. Thanks to the constantly expanding flight schedules of traditional and flight airlines (such as AIR France, Eurowings, Swiss, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, SAS, Ryanair and Wizzair), the city is becoming more accessible for travellers from many parts of the world, especially from Europe. The list of direct routes is still getting longer. The airport also offers charter flights. It can handle almost 4 million passengers per year and in the future, it will be able to handle as much as 7 million.

Of course, Wrocław can also be reached by bus or by train, including Pendolino express trains which arrives at the beautiful main railway station. Direct train connections to Prague and Berlin will be available soon.
